DESCRIBE YOUR CHARACTER:
Matt is a very strong, calm, moral and determined sort of chap. He's made some mistakes in the past but he is more than willing to make up for them. He is someone you'd be proud to have as a partner or mate.

REMIND US OF WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR CHARACTER AT THE END OF LAST SERIES?
Matt and Joly had made a happy reconciliation and were looking forward to moving on in their relationship.

MATT AND JOLY SEEM TO BE BACK ON TRACK IN TERMS OF THEIR RELATIONSHIP - ARE THEY HAPPY TOGETHER OR CAN WE EXPECT SOME SURPRISES?
Matt and Joly are in the 'honeymoon period', completely and passionately in love. I hope it all goes well for them but in the name of drama, who knows?

MATT SEEMED TO HAVE A BIT OF A DUBIOUS BACKGROUND IN THE LAST SERIES, IS THIS STILL THE CASE THIS SERIES?
Matt lost his first wife to a drunk driver and dealt out his own retribution. He's ashamed of this and keeps it a secret, along with other things - which may cause some problems with his relationship with Joly.

DO YOU THINK MATT AND JOLY ARE TRULY IN LOVE AND WILL IT LAST?
They are completely in love. It would appear they have found what they have always been searching for and it could be the one that lasts forever. I certainly hope it will.

MATT AND JOLY ARE WORKING TOGETHER AT A NEW BRASSERIE THEY ARE BUILDING UP TOGETHER. DESCRIBE MATT'S ROLE:
Matt is a trained chef so his role is in the kitchen. He's got a good head on his shoulders so he would also have a say in making the whole business a success.

DO YOU THINK WORKING TOGETHER WILL CEMENT THEIR RELATIONSHIP OR BREAK IT UP?
I think their relationship is so strong it would take an unimaginable tragedy to break their spirit.

MATT AND REES DIDN'T SEEM TO GET ALONG MUCH DURING THE FIRST SERIES - HAS THIS RELATIONSHIP NOW IMPROVED?
Matt is the father Rees always wanted and visa versa. Their love is deep rooted and Matt can probably see a lot of himself in Rees and I think Rees would like to become the man Matt is.

DO YOU THINK MATT AND JOLY ARE WELL SUITED?
I think that they are even though they are opposites but as the saying goes, 'opposites attract'.

THERE WERE SOME SAUCY SEX SCENES BETWEEN MATT AND JOLY LAST SERIES - CAN THE VIEWERS EXPECT ANY MORE OF THIS IN THIS SERIES?
I think their love is becoming more solid. They obviously fancy the pants off each other so that shows in everything they do.

WHAT IS THE ON SCREEN CHEMISTY LIKE BETWEEN MATT AND JOLY? IS THIS FUN TO PLAY AND WHAT IS SARAH LIKE TO WORK WITH?
The on screen chemistry between these two is electric. Sarah is one of the most giving, thoughtful and compassionate actresses I've ever had the privilege to work with. She certainly makes coming into work an even more wonderful experience.

WHAT DO YOU THINK MAKES EXTRA TIME STAND APART FROM THE ORIGINAL SERIES?
I think Extra Time is more grittier and has a harder edge. Now that we have finished Series 2 the characters are fully defined and very different to the bitchy glamour of its counterpart. There is also more love in this show.

HAVE YOU NOTICED ANY CHANGES IN TERMS OF FILMING FROM LAST SERIES TO THIS SERIES?
The rhythm has changed because we have longer on each episode which helps the story telling.

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY ABOUT PLAYING YOUR CHARACTER?
I love coming into work and experiencing rage, joy, fear and raw emotion. I get to do this and more with Matt - he's a fantastic character.

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE AND DISLIKE ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER IF YOU WERE INTRODUCED IN REAL LIFE?
He probably wouldn't say much and you certainly wouldn't see him propping up the bar, cracking jokes. But as a pal you couldn't ask for a more straightforward, loyal and generous man.

WHAT ARE THE SIMILARITIES BETWEEN YOU AND MATT?
We are similar in looks, height and shoe size. I think as far as strength of character is concerned we are alike but that's as far as it goes. As an actor I have to bring my own colour to any character I play which comes from my own core.

HAVE YOU FILMED A MEMORABLE SCENE YET?
There was a scene between Joly and Matt where she makes him cry and for me it was a really subtle, beautiful scene. Also any scene that I've done with Sarah Matravers, Marc Hendrey and Ben Richards.

WHAT'S THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING INVOLVED WITH EXTRA TIME?
I love the behind the scenes people, ie, Costume, Makeup. It's a wonderful team with a lot of humour and high jinx. They make it a real pleasure. Also Di Burrows, the producer is very special.

WHERE WERE YOU BORN AND BROUGHT UP?
I'm Irish but I was brought up in North London and I still live quite close by and near all my family who I love.

DO YOU SUPPORT A FOOTBALL TEAM?
My team is Arsenal and I really hope we do well this season.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING SINCE FILMING THE LAST SERIES?
I've just been enjoying my life to the max. I'm 32 and realise how special life is and live my life accordingly.

WHAT ARE YOU HOPING TO DO AFTER FINISHING FILMING THE SERIES?
I'm hoping to do a film of a book called "The Take" by Marina Cole and besides that I'm hoping we do a third series of Extra Time because I really love it.

WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR FREE TIME?
I love riding my motorbike, pottering around the garden and eating and drinking with my family and friends. I love a good read. If I had my say I would be working all the time with occasional break in the sun.
